About the United States load board

The USA load board lists truck loads posted on GigFreight by freight brokers and shippers across the lower 48 states. The US is a separate market on GigFreight: US accounts see US freight only. State boards below show loads that pick up in one state.

Planning in United States

Weights
On the Interstate system the federal limits are 80,000 lb gross, 20,000 lb on a single axle and 34,000 lb on a tandem axle; 53-ft trailers are the standard van length.
Payment terms
US federal law sets no payment term between brokers and carriers; terms are agreed per load in the rate confirmation, and a carrier may review the broker’s record of each transaction it handled (49 CFR 371.3).

How the board works

  1. Brokers and shippers post a load with route, dates, equipment, weight and rate.
  2. Carriers filter the board by origin, destination, date and vehicle type, and sort by rate or rate per mile.
  3. Members with an active paid subscription see the poster’s contact details and agree the job directly with them.

What it is called locally

owner-operator (US English)
a driver who owns and runs their own truck under their own or a leased authority
deadhead (US English)
miles driven empty; a backhaul load reduces them
rate per mile (US English)

GigFreight’s interface is in English.

Questions about this board

Can I browse United States loads without an account?

Load boards can be browsed without an account. Visitors see the route, dates, equipment and price of each load, but not the poster’s contact details.

How much does the United States load board cost?

Standard membership for the United States market costs $29.99 a month, $79.99 per quarter or $149.99 per six months. Elite, which adds Elite loads and priority matching, costs $129 a month. The Standard monthly plan starts with 3 days for $1, then $29.99 a month. Prices are in USD.

Who can see loads on the United States board?

Anyone can browse the listings. Accounts registered in the United States market see loads in United States. Posting loads is restricted to active paid subscribers and valid trials: the load is posted from a broker account — shippers and forwarders use the same account type — of a verified company, and is published in that account’s own markets. Carriers and owner-operators use the board to find work.

Are broker contact details included in the free trial?

Broker and shipper contact details on a load are shown only to members with a fully paid, active subscription. A trial gives access to the platform but not to load contact details.
