Find a haulier in the UK

To find a haulier you can post your load where hauliers look for work, or search the lorries hauliers list as available. On GigFreight both happen on public boards for the UK and Europe. Before you book, check the haulier yourself: their operator licence, insurance and contact details. Posting loads is restricted to active paid subscribers and valid trials: the load is posted from a broker account — shippers and forwarders use the same account type — of a verified company, and is published in that account’s own markets.

Two ways to find a haulier

  • Post the load: hauliers searching your lane see it on the UK board and contact you.
  • Search available lorries: hauliers list lorries that are free at a place and date on the UK vehicle board.
  • Use hauliers you already know first — a reliable regular is worth more than a cheap stranger.

Check the haulier before you book

  • Operator licence: look the company up on the DVSA / Traffic Commissioner records (operator licence search on GOV.UK).
  • Goods-in-transit insurance and its limits.
  • Confirm the phone and email independently — freight fraud often uses look-alike company names.
  • For international work: the CMR note and, for EU legs, the rules on cabotage.

Getting haulage quotes

Give the lane, dates, vehicle type (artic, rigid, van), weight or pallet count and any loading constraints. Loads that state a rate get faster, more serious replies than "price on request".

Hauliers wanted? Post the load

If you need a haulier for one load or for regular subcontract work, post it where hauliers search: give the collection and delivery points, dates, vehicle type, weight or pallet count and your rate. Hauliers browsing the UK board see the load and can contact you.

Posting loads is restricted to active paid subscribers and valid trials: the load is posted from a broker account — shippers and forwarders use the same account type — of a verified company, and is published in that account’s own markets.

What it costs

UK plans start at £67 a month; every plan starts with a 3-day trial and there is no commission per load. Broker and shipper contact details on a load are shown only to members with a fully paid, active subscription. A trial gives access to the platform but not to load contact details.
