About the Europe load board

The GigFreight European load board lists full and part truck loads posted by freight brokers, forwarders and shippers for road transport across Europe. Each listing shows the pickup and delivery locations, dates, equipment, weight and the offered rate, so a carrier can judge a load before contacting the poster.

Europe is one market on GigFreight: an account registered in the EU or the UK sees both European and UK freight, and Turkish accounts see Europe, the UK and Turkey. Country boards below narrow the same inventory to loads that start in one country.

Main freight hubs

  • Rotterdam and Antwerp seaports
  • the German Ruhr and Rhine–Main regions
  • central Poland around Łódź and Warsaw
  • northern Italy around Milan
  • Lyon and the Paris basin

Common lanes

  • Germany ↔ Poland
  • Benelux ports → Germany and France
  • Germany ↔ Czech Republic
  • Italy ↔ Germany via the Alpine crossings
  • Spain ↔ France

Planning in Europe

Weights
International transport in the EU is limited to 40 t gross (44 t for a 40-ft container in combined transport) and 16.5 m for an articulated vehicle, under Directive 96/53/EC.
Payment terms
Under the EU Late Payment Directive (2011/7/EU), business-to-business payment terms may not exceed 60 days unless expressly agreed and not grossly unfair; late payers owe statutory interest of the central bank rate plus 8 percentage points and at least €40 compensation.

How the board works

  1. Brokers and shippers post a load with route, dates, equipment, weight and rate.
  2. Carriers filter the board by origin, destination, date and vehicle type, and sort by rate or rate per kilometre.
  3. Members with an active paid subscription see the poster’s contact details and agree the job directly with them.

Questions about this board

Can I browse Europe loads without an account?

Load boards can be browsed without an account. Visitors see the route, dates, equipment and price of each load, but not the poster’s contact details.

How much does the Europe load board cost?

Standard membership for the Europe market costs €79 a month, €199 per quarter or €359 per six months. Elite, which adds Elite loads and priority matching, costs €129 a month. Every plan starts with a 3-day free trial; you can cancel before it ends. Prices are in EUR.

Who can see loads on the Europe board?

Anyone can browse the listings. Accounts registered in the Europe market see loads in Europe and United Kingdom. Posting loads is restricted to active paid subscribers and valid trials: the load is posted from a broker account — shippers and forwarders use the same account type — of a verified company, and is published in that account’s own markets. Carriers and owner-operators use the board to find work.

Are broker contact details included in the free trial?

Broker and shipper contact details on a load are shown only to members with a fully paid, active subscription. A trial gives access to the platform but not to load contact details.
