Truck freight from Poland to Netherlands

Poland → Netherlands freight crosses the whole of northern Germany, usually on the A2/A12 into Berlin’s ring and then west on the A2 and A30 or A1 towards Venlo, Rotterdam and Amsterdam. It is a long international run in which German rules — the truck toll and weekend bans — matter as much as Polish and Dutch ones.

Tolls, bans and documents

Transit through Germany

Germany charges a distance-based truck toll (LKW-Maut) on motorways and federal roads for vehicles over 3.5 t, with a CO₂ component. Germany bans trucks over 7.5 t on Sundays and public holidays from 00:00 to 22:00, and on many motorways on Saturdays in July and August from 07:00 to 20:00.

Poland and the Netherlands

Poland charges trucks over 3.5 t through e-TOLL on tolled roads. Since 1 July 2026 the Netherlands charges a per-kilometre truck toll (vrachtwagenheffing) for trucks over 3.5 t on motorways and some regional roads; each truck needs an on-board unit, and the Dutch Eurovignet ended on the same day.

Documents

CMR consignment note and EU Community licence. Cabotage (domestic loads by a foreign EU carrier) is limited to three operations within seven days after an international delivery, followed by a four-day cooling-off period in that country.

Tips for carriers

  • Container and distribution freight from Rotterdam and Venlo is the natural load back east.
  • Plan the German Sunday ban into a Friday departure from Poland.
