Rules to know

Tolls and bans

Germany charges a distance-based truck toll (LKW-Maut) on motorways and federal roads for vehicles over 3.5 t, with a CO₂ component. Germany bans trucks over 7.5 t on Sundays and public holidays from 00:00 to 22:00, and on many motorways on Saturdays in July and August from 07:00 to 20:00.

Port collections

Container collections need a terminal slot and release; check the booking before you accept.

Tips for carriers

  • Eastbound loads to Berlin and Poland pair well with westbound Polish freight.
